Visit The Windmills

There is no denying that the windmills of Bodrum are one of its most famous attractions. They sit high up on a hill overlooking the water. On a clear day, you can see the city of Bodrum, Gumbet, and the Greek island of Kos. While the windmills have been largely neglected since their discontinued use in the 1970s, they are still a site worth seeing. Built in the 18th century, they feature sturdy stone construction. Plan your visit for sunrise or sunset for a breathtaking view of the windmills.

Take a Boat Ride

The Marina in Bodrum sits in a sheltered bay on the Aegean coastline. You can stroll along the promenade and get a sense of the city. Then book a boat tour in a luxury gulet. These are traditional wooden boats that are perfect for the Mediterranean waters. Getting out on the water gives you a unique view of the city. You will see the pristine coastline, hidden coves, and fishermen plying their trade.

Today, you can wander the quiet towers and imagine what once took place. Then make your way to the underwater museum. It is a tribute to all the ships sunk at sea. You will see fully recreated ships, glassware, and treasure.
